Tomorrow, Abang Johari will meet with Boeing Japan to hold discussions on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as well as related research and development efforts.

On the third day (Dec 18) of the working visit, the Premier and his delegation will visit the Tokyo Gas Yokohama Techno Station, a model facility for the local production and consumption of hydrogen and e-methane, as well as CO₂ recycling. The station serves as a prototype being expanded across Japan.

On day 4, the Premier will visit the Mitsubishi Power Takasago Plant. The hydrogen park is an advanced facility dedicated to validating hydrogen technologies for global decarbonisation.

It is the world’s first facility covering the entire hydrogen value chain: production, storage, and utilisation.

The hydrogen park also features cutting-edge systems, including large-scale electrolysers and next-generation technologies such as solid oxide electrolysis and turquoise hydrogen production, which generate hydrogen without CO₂ emissions.

These innovations are tested using hydrogen-powered turbines, enhancing hydrogen’s commercial competitiveness as a sustainable energy source.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari is expected to end the official working visit on Dec 20 before returning home.
