BINTULU: The Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB) continues its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment by organising an Iftar event with orphans, B40 students and muallaf at Hotel ParkCity Everly here on Wednesday night.
The event, under the Jalinan Kasih Ramadan programme by Yayasan Bintulu Port, also included donations to the Bintulu Orphan Welfare Organisation (PERYATIM), 150 new converts from three associations, namely Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) Bintulu Branch, Sarawak Tiong Hua Islamic Welfare Association (PERKTHIS) Bintulu, and Urusetia Saudara Kita (USK) Bintulu, as well as 100 B40 students from 12 selected schools around Bintulu.

BPHB Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, said that this Iftar programme is more than just an annual event; it serves as a platform to strengthen ties between Yayasan Bintulu Port and the local community.
According to him, this event is part of Yayasan Bintulu Port’s CSR efforts, demonstrating its continuous commitment to supporting the underprivileged in Bintulu.
“We are honoured to be able to share our blessings with those in need.
“Hosting this event with orphans and new converts is a meaningful moment for us,” he said.
Also present were the Jepak state assemblyman (ADUN) Iskandar Turkee, Deputy Chairman of Bintulu Development Authority, Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan, and PETROS’ Senior Vice-President of Resource Management, Datuk Abang Arabi Abang Narudin.
In addition to breaking fast together, the event was enriched with a special talk by Ustaz Hussein Zainal Abidin, who emphasised the importance of unity and togetherness in a diverse society.
