KUCHING: The Russell, Randell & Cindy (RRC) Dance Company Dinner & Dance 2024 was held on December 21 at the Imperial Hotel here, where dining guests were mesmerised by the spectacular dance performances put on by its students.

Dancers from various age groups, from young to older, displayed energy, enthusiasm, good stage presence, and well-honed dance techniques. They performed polished, well-coordinated displays that impressed the audience, who cheered and applauded after every Latin dance piece.

The event, enthusiastically hosted by Jayc Panganiban, kicked off with a welcoming speech from Russell Lim, senior partner of the dance studio.

“Congratulations to the dancers for their hard work and commitment to improving their dancing standards. I would also like to commend several students, including Amy Kho, Cordelia Wee, Eunice Ling, Valery Chung, Erin Ung, and Arabelle Leah Pei, who won in their respective categories at the WDSF International competitions held in Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, KL, and Johor,” Russell said in a press statement today (Dec 23).

He urged younger students to emulate these outstanding achievements and continue to represent Sarawak on the international stage.

Two special awards were presented to dance teachers of Russell Lim, Randell Lim, and Cindy Chung, who are partners at the studio, as well as to John Chong Nyuk Chin, their DanceSport teacher, and Chan Lay Na, their ballet teacher. The younger students were in awe of their teachers’ presence.

Tokens of appreciation were also presented to Sarawak DanceSport Association President Chester Lim and Dr Elena Chai, Assistant Secretary from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts.

The studio also announced that four of its students — Cordelia Wee, Eunice Ling, Erin Ung, and Annabelle Leah Pei — are slated to participate in the WDSF French Open 2025, which will be held in Lyon, France, in February 2025.

Among the evening’s events was a lucky draw and an open dance floor, where many guests joyfully showed off their best dance moves.
