SIBU: A man has been arrested for possessing 400 litres of diesel worth RM70,872 without a valid reason.
State Marine police chief ACP Shamsol Kassim said the suspect had contravened the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for the alleged offense.
He said at 8.45am on Friday, seven officers from the department halted a four-wheel-drive at Jalan Helang here.
“The vehicle was found laden with 20 jerry cans containing 400 litres of diesel,” he said.
Shamsol said the suspect was detained after failing to provide validation of having a large volume of diesel with him.
The case has been referred to Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry for further action.
