KFC, Pizza Hut shine at Putra Brand Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: KFC Malaysia and Pizza Hut Malaysia once again came up top in the tenth installation of Putra Brand Awards, retaining their positions as the nation’s top preferred brands in the Fast Food & Restaurant category, by taking home Gold and Silver awards, respectively.

The Gold and Silver awards were presented to Datuk Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, group managing director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, in a gala night held at the Majestic Hotel here.

A total of 159 awards across 23 categories were presented during the premier award show attended by leaders of powerhouse brands, the marketers and agencies.

“It is truly an honour for us that the consumers and industry continue to recognise our commitment to formulate and bring top in class food products as well as convenient services that personally cater to the people’s needs. We are a lifestyle store – being relevant and creating brand distinctiveness to continuously connect with our customers are our key priorities,” expressed Mohamed Azahari.

This year, KFC Malaysia unveiled a surprise collaboration with a home-grown streetwear brand, Pestle & Mortar Clothing in celebrating Malaysia’s 62nd Merdeka and KFC’s heritage in the country.

Pizza Hut Malaysia continues to drive the brands’ belief in passion though innovative campaigns throughout 2019. The Singing Pizza creatively utilises digital technology to bring an experiential journey by integrating lifestyle approach featuring pizza boxes that transform into music boxes that stream exclusive music playlist with up to 200 songs.

“We have to thank our customers who believe in our brands and have journeyed with us this far,” Mohamed Azahari added.

This year, about 8,000 respondents participated in the consumer preference survey to determine their favourite brands across 23 categories.
