KUCHING: Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong’s recent swipe at Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and its supporters, calling them ‘hypocrites’, has been described as “unintelligent” by Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
“To me, it is a very unintelligent remark. What is she trying to prove?
“We are holding Malaysian identification cards (ICs) because we are Malaysians. If she does not want us to hold a Malaysian IC, she wants us to get out of Malaysia? Then she herself also does not need to hold a Malaysian IC,” said Nancy, who is from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
Last Thursday, Yong who is the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak organising secretary, had posted a message on her Facebook page describing GPS and its supporters as ‘hypocrites’ for criticising the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.
The post read: “Swk GPS and their supporters are HYPOCRITES; scolding PH Federal Govt as Malaya everyday yet happily holding Malaysia IC & Passports + using RM”.
