KUCHING: A security guard was rudely awakened by the sound of loud banging at his house at Dahlia Park, Mile 5, Matang yesterday at 1.20am.
The commotion was caused by a man who demanded that the victim give him a mobile phone.
The security guard said the man appeared to be drunk and called the police for help.
When police arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect with injuries to his head, left eye, and legs. He appeared to have been beaten up.
Police then sent him to a hospital for treatment before arresting him for causing disturbance.
The suspect is a 32-year-old man from Rumah Ganya Nanga Lempa Kabo, Saratok. He has no previous convictions.
