SERIAN: Dr Jerip Susil has been hailed as a brave politician whose decision to quit Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) was guided by his constituents.
Political secretary to the chief minister Dr Simon Sindang Bada said for anyone who has been with a party for so long, deciding to quit cannot be easy.
“I am very sure it was a difficult one (decision). But he is a brave politician. He is brave because he takes courage from his constituents,” Dr Sindang said in a WhatsApp message to the New Sarawak Tribune late last night.
Dr Sindang further said, “Reading the whole passage (of Dr Jerip’s quit letter) it is an open acknowledgement of his trust and belief that GPS under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Open is the way forward for Sarawakians.
Dr Sindang said being a veteran politician Dr Jerip knows what is best for Mambong and the Bidayuh as a whole.
“He knows Bidayuh unity is paramount. He knows that we cannot afford to be split and divided.
“Therefore, on a personal note, I welcome his decision in the best interest of the Bidayuh.
“I wish him the best in whatever comes his way,” Dr Sindang said.
