KUCHING: More than 7,000 people are expected to join the popular Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2019 in an attempt to put the event in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR).
The event which is in its fifth edition this year will be held on August 3 at the State Hockey Stadium in Padungan here. More than 5,000 joined the event last year.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk James Chan said the healthy pursuit and Latin dance-inspired fitness programme is part of the Kuching Festival programme held by the council to promote a better and healthier lifestyle within the community.
“This is in line with the Healthy City programme advocated by the council all these years,” he said at a press conference at his office here yesterday.
Chan added that the community regardless of age, gender and race are welcome to join in the electrifying and fun-filled night.
The night-spirited instructors accompanied by the immense music burst will guide the participants to dance through the night and make it an unforgettable experience.
The event will start off with the arrival of participants at 6.30pm. The opening ceremony will begin at 7pm, followed by the Zumba session at 7.45pm.
To register for Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2019, new users can download the iPeople App via Google Play Store (for Android users) or the App Store (for iOS users) and create an account.
After registering an account, tap on the “Event” module to reach the digital registration form for Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2019 where they have to select the “Register Now” button.
During registration, users can also include additional participants by tapping on the “Add Other Participant” button where a maximum of 10 persons can be added.
For existing registered account users, they just need to update their iPeople App before accessing the “Event” module to register for Mayor’s Walk 2019 or Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2019. After a single successful registration, a single QR code will be generated.
The closing date for Kuching Zumba Fiesta online registration is on August 1. Walk-ins will also be allowed during the event as it is free for everyone. There will be lucky draw prizes up for grab.
