BINTULU: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has once again reminded the people to uphold multi-racial unity and harmony in the state.

During his visit to a longhouse, Tuai Rumah Lunsa Panto at Sungai Lalang in Tatau, yesterday, he said to unite people of different races there must be tolerance and respect for one another’s religions, cultures and customs.

“The spirit of goodwill and a life of prosperity enable the people in this country to live well without any distractions that may cause conflicts or disorders,” he said.

Among other things, Tiong’s visit was aimed at sharing the joy of Gawai Dayak.

Tiong also spent time with the villagers, hearing their problems and promising to assist in finding solutions to their problems.

He also announced an allocation of RM70,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the longhouse.
