KUCHING: A total of 50 needy families in the Batu Kawa area here received essential items from the Association of Wives of State Ministers, Assistant Ministers and State Assemblymen (Sabati) today.
The recipients comprised Dayaks and Malays from Kampung Desa Wira, Sinar Budi Lama, Sinar Budi Baru and Rantau Panjang. They were given the items in connection with this year’s Gawai Dayak and Hari Raya celebrations.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and wife Datin Enn Ong presented the items at SUPP Batu Kawa service centre.
Dr Sim hoped that the contributions would lighten the burden of the recipients as they prepare to celebrate the two festivals.
