KUCHING: Since their last meeting in 2001, 20 former students of SMK ST Thomas reunited in a unique way by holding a ‘bubur lambuk’ (savoury porridge) distribution programme.
The group distributed the ‘bubur lambuk’ to road users passing through Jalan Astana.
Head of the programme, Syahrul Hafizy Ghazali, said the idea of holding the programme was to showcase a different vibe for the group’s meeting.
“In a way, we, as former students, were able to celebrate the Ramadan month through a charity programme like this,” he said yesterday.
Syahrul added that the ‘bubur lambuk was made by all the former students.
“We created a Whatsapp group to facilitate this programme. Through this channel, we were able to discuss our plans,” he said.
He said every one of them chipped in to the cause.
