SIBU: SMK Tiong Hin archers Desmond Ho Liang Hong, Alden Wong Dee Kai and Jacky Sung Jek Ping emerged champions of the men’s team category of the Sibu Secondary Schools Archery Championship 2017 held at the Sibu Archery Centre, here recently.
SMK Bukit Lima represented by Hillary Tiong Ing Kiong, David Lau Meng Kiong and Alexander Banyan Anak John finished second in the two-day championhip while
SM Catholic High comprising Tan Siong Yu, Gordon Tan Yi Xi and Kevin Tan Chu Fan were third.
In fourth place of the category were SMK Sibu Jaya archers comprising Mick Tommy Bajie, Andrian Ak Teni and Frentzen Erang.
In the women’s team category, SMK Bukit Lima represented by Charren Kho Lee Loung, Nooranisa Binti Abdul Rani and Syazatul Alia Bt Latip @ Mohtada were thchampion while SM Catholic High comprising Amy Wong Siew Tin, Britney Kong Yan Jie and Joy Lee Xing Yee were the runners-up.
Third place went to SMK Tiong Hin’s Cylysce Ting Ann Qie, Erin Tong Lih Xian and Jaclyn Sung Lin Sin, while fourth place went to SMK Methodist team of Jesnita Cheng Mohd Farid, Amanda Ting and Belinda Sendi Ak Brendan.
In the men’s individual Under 15 years old category, Desmond Ho Liang Hong of SMK Tiong Hin emerged as the winner, with Abg Fitri Bin Abg Rashidi from SMK Bukit Lima as runner-up and Tan Siong Yu of SM Catholic High third.
In the men’s category Under 18 years old, Jacky Sung Jek Ping from SMK Tiong Hin won the first place, followed by by Liu Shiuh Heng from SM Catholic High and David Lau Meng Kiong from SMK Bukit Lima respectively.
Meanwhile, in the women’s individual under 15 years old event, Nathaly Manyie of SMK Sibu Jaya finished as the winner, Britney Kong Yan Yie from SM Catholic High was the runner-up and third Fitriah Nur Haziqah of SMK Lanang.
In women’s individual under 18 years old, Amanda Ting of SMK Methodist, Nooranisa Binti Abdul Rani of SMK Bukit Lima and Nur Anis Faizatul Bt Jamil from SMK Bukit Lima were the respective top three winners.
The tournament was organised by PPD Sibu, SMK Bukit Lima and Sibu Archery Centre.
