KUCHING: Sarawak acting coach Mohamad Denny Da’ail admitted that the squad’s porous defence has led to their 2-6 defeat at the hands of PDRM in the 2019 Premier League at the Hang Jebat Stadium last Saturday.

To him, it was not really surprising as Sarawak were without a number of key players in their line-up.

“We faced PDRM without with our best eleven and two midfielders also did not play due to injury.

“So I was forced to field Adam Fahmi and Dalglish Papin to play as central defenders,” Denny said.

With only Hudson Dias as the import player, the Crocs were outplayed by four foreign imports and a naturalised player of PDRM.

But according to Denny, apparently there was not so much gap between the two teams in terms of performance.

“We just played our usual game but the lapses in our defence were fully exploited by the PDRM key players such as Ronaldinho, Andrezinho, Lee Chang Hoon, Gopi, Farhan and Shahruian Abu Samah.

“Our defenders simply failed to foil their onslaughts,” Denny said.

However, Denny was delighted when Sarawak managed to fire back two beautiful goals through Mohd Firdaus Fauzi and Zahrul Nizwan.
