KUCHING: A family of three was tied up and robbed after masked intruders entered their home at Mile 21, Jalan Kuching-Serian here.
The armed robbery happened at around 3am yesterday, perpetrated by four individuals – three of them had masks on and armed with sharp weapons.
One of the victims, a 37-year-old teacher, later said her father was woken by the intruders who ordered him to go to his daughter’s room where his wife was also in.
They were then tied up before the intruders proceeded to ransack the house.
The robbers made off with a white Nissan Almera car, three cell phones, jewelleries, watches and RM2,000. The car was later found at the border town of Tebedu.
After the robbers left, the victims managed to untie themselves and called the police.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said from initial investigation, the robbers had entered the house through a kitchen window.
Based on descriptions provided by the victims, Supt Aidil said three of the suspects were wearing masks and all four were in dark long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
