SugarBun celebrates 40th anniversary with special meal

KUCHING: Popular fast food franchise, SugarBun, marked its 40th anniversary by launching a celebratory meal across all of its outlets in Malaysia starting yesterday.

To last until May 31, the meal was officially launched at the Borneo Asian Food by SugarBun at Wisma SugarBun, Jalan Satok, here.

The event was initiated by SB Supplies and Logistic Sdn Bhd, General Manager, Raymond Teo.

“Reaching 40 years is a great accomplishment for SugarBun and we want to share our happiness over a meal with all our customers.

“We arealso taking the opportunity to create awareness of the history and facts about SugarBun,” said Teo in his opening speech.

He also said that SugarBun would still remain true to its foundation which is to provide locally produced and high quality products for their customers.

“From the simple days of being an ice-cream parlour in Kenyalang Park to being the first Malaysian fast food restaurant, we have franchised over 94 outlets in Malaysia to date.

“SugarBun now looks onwards to the international market as currently SugarBun has been established in Brunei, Bangladesh and it is coming soon in Indonesia,” he said.

The 40th anniversary meal includes SugarBun’s main products namely one piece Broasted Chicken and one serving Savoury Rice for RM5.00 with an optional RM1.00 add-on for soft drinks.

Also as part of their campaign, SugarBun released an article titled “SugarBun: The Sweet and Savoury Sarawak Success Story” in the recently published Free Community Magazine Happenings in Sarawak.

The article shares historical facts about SugarBun and also its future plans.
