KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received two courtesy calls at the Astana Negeri, here.
The first courtesy call was made by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg who led a delegation with the aim to invite Tun Pehin Sri Taib to attend the ‘Jasamu Dikenang’ Special Convention of
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on this 6th May.
Also in the delegation were Deputy Chief Minister who is also Modernisation of Agriculture and Rural Economy Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment who is also Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, Trade and Investment Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Minister of Public Utilities Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi PBB Executive Secretary Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek.
Thereafter Tun Pehin Sri Taib received a courtesy call by delegates of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Malaysia led by Deputy Director-General of DBP Malaysia , Datuk Abang Sallehuddin Abang Shokeran.
Their call was to invite Tun Pehin Sri Taib to grace the Final of the Forum Remaja Piala Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak 2017 and the Launching of the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Sarawak Branch to be held at Balai Budaya, DBP Sarawak Branch on this 15 May.
Also in the delegation were DBP Sarawak Branch Director Dr Hazami Jahari, Head of Academic Management Sector of Sarawak Education Department Salbiah Seman and Corporate Communication Unit Head of DBP Sarawak Branch Dayang Norazan Kartini Dato Pengiran Zain.
