KUCHING: The State Entrepreneur Development Ministry has been accorded a five-star rating by the inspectorate of the state Treasury Department.
In terms of customers’ satisfaction, it was given a 98 percent passing mark by its stakeholders.
Disclosing this at a Changing Culture Programme cum CNY celebration organised by the ministry here, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan expressed satisfaction with the excellent achievement.
He commended the staff members, working at all levels of the ministry for a job well done and hoped they would continue to sustain a productive and efficient work culture.
“A committed, productive and efficient work culture are crucial for dealing with not only the stakeholders such as investors and businessmen but more so the general public,” he said.
Awang Tengah, who is also Entrepreneur Development Minister, said the ministry was expected to become busier than ever, especially with the allocation of RM116.5 million approved by the state government for its various programmes this year.
“We will continue to focus on developing industrial estates and entrepreneurs corner with the RM99.7 million set aside for the sector,” he said.
The ministry, he disclosed, had also been allocated RM9.7 million to organise development programmes for the small and medium scale entrepreneurs while the remaining will be for investment promotion and management services.
Awang Tengah said MIED would step up efforts to draw more investors, both locally and abroad.
On the MIED Changing Culture Programme, he said it was aimed at promoting greater understanding of one another’s culture and tradition and harmony.
Also present at the function were Entrepreneur, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and MIED permanent secretary Datuk Liaw Soon Eng.
