KUCHING: TV Sarawak (TVS) and the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) are set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalise their shared commitment to strengthen the state’s broadcasting industry.

The MoU will enable both entities to collaborate on human capital development, the sharing of broadcasting technology, and the publication of more comprehensive news content that reflects public interest.

According to TVS chairwoman Datuk Norhyati Ismail, the partnership will not only strengthen synergy between TVS and UKAS but also open up avenues for the exchange of ideas and expertise to enrich the media landscape in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, UKAS director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan welcomed the collaboration and believes it will bring great benefits in delivering accurate, timely, and credible information to the public.

Both TVS and UKAS are optimistic that the MoU will serve as a catalyst for a more dynamic and progressive development of the state’s broadcasting industry.

This discussion took place during a courtesy visit by TVS to UKAS, led by Norhyati and chief media officer Mohamad Sardon Zainal, at the Baitul Makmur Building here on Wednesday (Mar 26).
