158 individuals in Tanjong Datu receive MRP grants, Aidilfitri contributions

LUNDU: A total of 158 individuals in the Tanjong Datu constituency received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants and Hari Raya contributions at a ceremony on Tuesday.

Of the total, 48 recipients, comprising Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and parent-teacher associations (PTAs), were awarded MRP grants amounting to RM315,000, while 110 individuals received Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions.

The contributions were presented by the political secretary to the Premier, Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, who represented Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, at Dewan Serbaguna Mahligai Gading here.

Also in attendance were Lundu District officer Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha, Pemanca Jumahdi Sabian, Tanjong Datu PBB deputy chief Councillor Abdul Razak Abdul Wahab, Women’s Wing chief Councillor Fatimah Abdullah and Youth Wing chief Mohd Rhadzie Kassim.

Abang Abdul Aziz advised the MRP recipients to use the grants to benefit their respective organisations.

“This effort provides financial support and helps foster stronger bonds within the community.

“We hope these contributions will brighten this year’s Hari Raya celebrations for the recipients,” he said.

He also shared that the Tanjong Datu assemblyman’s Hari Raya open house will be held on April 12, and invited all present to attend.
