TYT graces breaking of fast ceremony

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi graced the ‘majlis bersungkei’ (breaking of fast ceremony) at the Astana Negeri Sarawak’s Surau here.

The gathering also marked the continuation of fast breaking on the 11th day of Ramadan, which was observed yesterday (Mar 13).

It commenced with a light meal following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad and continued with the Maghrib prayers.

Wan Junaidi and Fauziah then joined guests for a meal as well as engaged in conversation and strengthened bonds of friendships.

After the meal, the congregation performed Isyak and Tarawih prayers, led by Ustaz Safwan bin Mahli Al-Hafiz.

The evening was further enriched with Quranic recitations, highlighting Ramadan’s significance as a time of devotion and self-reflection.

The gathering concluded with a moreh (a special light meal) that provided guests with the opportunity to further strengthen ties in an atmosphere of unity and togetherness.

In his message, Wan Junaidi expressed hope that the blessings of Ramadan will continue to enlighten the hearts of Muslims, foster stronger bonds, and bring them closer to Allah through acts of worship and good deeds.

Among those present were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman or Unions) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya and his wife Datin Shanti Achmed Ramly; Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki and his wife Datin Hajah Noor Akmar Hamdan; Forest Department Sarawak director Datuk Hamden Mohammed and his wife Datin Raden Asmawati Raden Mahmud.
