KUCHING: Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, extended support to orphans from Taman Sepakat Jaya, Demak Laut, during an Isyak and Tarawih prayer event at Surau Taman Sepakat Jaya, Jalan Bako, last Friday.

As a gesture of support and care, he presented donations in the form of cash and fabric for traditional Baju Melayu attire to 14 orphans.

The Demak Laut assemblyman expressed hope that the contribution would bring them joy during the blessed month of Ramadan.

“This donation programme for orphans will continue in villages around the Demak Laut area throughout the holy month of Ramadan,” he said in a press statement yesterday (March 11).

He added that the programme would also be carried out alongside congregational prayers, including Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers.
