Miri to host prestigious STEM Cube open championship

MIRI: Registration is now open for the Miri 20th Anniversary STEM Cube open championship 2025.

This prestigious competition is being jointly organised by the Youth Divisions of the Thai Poo Miri Community Association, Miri Chiang Hsia Huang Clan Association, Pelangi Chorus Association Miri and the Miri Youth Activity Centre.

The event is supported by the World Cube Association (WCA), Miri Bintang Megamall, and KIDS Station Stem Cube Kuala Lumpur, with Yuxin International Group (HK) Limited China proudly serving as the main sponsor.

Scheduled to take place on May 25,  at Miri Bintang Megamall, the championship is expected to attract participants from across Southeast Asia and beyond.

As an official event sanctioned by the WCA, all results will be recorded and verified, with the possibility of setting new world records.

Several world and regional record holders are expected to participate, inspiring a new generation of cubers to push the boundaries of their performance.

According to the organising chairman, Kelvin Chia, the Rubik’s Cube is more than just a test of intelligence, saying it is a global sport that transcends language and culture.

“We look forward to sharing this unique experience and the WCA platform with players and participants from Sarawak and around the world,” he said.
