MARAN: Felda United almost lose on its own turf after they were tied 1-1 against PKNP FC in a Super League match at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium, Jengka, Sunday night.
As soon as the game started, both teams played cautiously before beginning to launch assaults to penetrate their opponent’s defence.
Felda United, which were promoted to Super League after becoming Premier League champions last season, had a chance to score in the 21st minute but the stiff shot by Brazilian import Jocinei Schad was neatly caught saved by visiting goalkeeper, Amar Asyraaf Omar.
PKNP FC, which appeared comfortable despite playing away, succeeded in scoring an opening goal in the 36th minute after Ghanian import Thomas Abbey powerfully headed the ball sent by Muhammad Fadhil Idris. The 1-0 goal score stayed until the rest period.
In the second half, PKNP FC, which was defeated at the opening match last week, almost added to its goal in the 64th minute but the powerful drive by Yashir Armando Pinto merely shook an upright.
Four minutes later, Felda United scored an equaliser via a Muhammad Hadin Azman free kick and the score remained unchanged until the final whistle rang.
Felda United are now in sixth position in the league with two points while PKNP FC stayed at the bottom with only one point after two matches. – Bernama
