BINTULU: The Bintulu Port Foundation has donated a new hearse van as well as a hearse management kit to the Darul Huda Mosque, Kampung Siol Kandis as an initiative to empower the fardu kifayah affairs of the local community.

The symbolic handing over of the replica of the van key was performed by the president/chief executive officer of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), Ruslan Abdul Ghani, to the chairman of the Darul Hana Mosque Management Committee, Morshidi Sindu and witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Also present were BPHB chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, who is also Sarawak State Secretary, as well as BPHB Group Stakeholder Relations acting general manager, Maslihah Tioh.

This donation, which is the first hearse owned by the mosque, received positive response from the congregants of the Darul Huda Mosque.

 With the mosque’s capacity to accommodate up to 1,200 worshippers, this facility is expected to facilitate funeral management for the residents of Kampung Siol Kandis and the surrounding areas.

Yayasan Bintulu Port is committed to continue supporting the community through initiatives that bring long-term benefits. The foundation hopes that this step will inspire more corporate companies to contribute to the well-being of society.
