BINTULU: Concerned about the fate of the victims of the longhouse fire in Beji Utek, Sungai Kelabat, Pandan, here, Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, through his Service Center, handed out donations in the form of basic necessities to those affected yesterday (Jan 25).

The donation was presented by the Special Duties Officer to the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Steven Kong Kai Seng, along with Supreme Council Member of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Saging Layang.

Tiong hopes that the donation will help ease some of the burden on the families of the victims and expressed his hopes for their perseverance and patience during this difficult time.

In the fire incident, which occurred at 10.35 pm last Wednesday, 10 families, involving 60 residents, were left homeless as their homes were completely destroyed.

Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.

The cause of the fire and the value of the loss are still under investigation.
