Site visit ensures smooth preparation

MIRI: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), Datuk Ismawi Ismuni, along with representatives from the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) under the Prime Minister’s Office, conducted a site visit to Miri Indoor Stadium yesterday (Jan 24).

The visit aimed to ensure that preparations for the Bakti MADANI Miri 2025 programme proceed smoothly.

Scheduled to take place from February 7 to 9, the programme is expected to be a major event for the people of Sarawak.

The official opening ceremony is slated for February 8 and will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Among the highlights of the programme are exhibitions by federal and state government agencies, career fairs, affordable goods sales through Jualan Rahmah, an Entrepreneurs’ Carnival, Pocket Talks on education and safety, and a Konsert Rakyat featuring renowned artistes such as Alleycats, Baby Shima, and Ricky Andrewson.

Additionally, various recreational activities will be held, including Zumba sessions, a Battle of the Bands competition, and a colouring contest for children. Visitors will also have the chance to participate in a lucky draw, with the grand prize being a Proton Saga car.

To further expand the programme’s reach, a Satellite Programme in Niah will take place on February 8 at Sepupok Open Stadium.

Activities will include gotong-royong (community work), free health screenings, and exhibitions by key agencies such as EPF, the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and Bantuan Tunai Rahmah.

The Bakti MADANI Miri 2025 programme reflects the governmen’s commitment to bringing services closer to the people of Sarawak while fostering an inclusive and dynamic community spirit.
