Rep spreads festive cheer with mandarin oranges and angpao

KUCHING: Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki distributed mandarin oranges and angpao or red packets while engaging with traders and customers around Jalan Nanas here.

Additionally, he handed out more than 500 Chinese New Year 2025 greeting cards and posters to the public in the area.

When met by reporters, he expressed his wishes for the community to celebrate the lunar new year with joy.

“May this year be the best for everyone in all aspects, including health, wealth, and success,” he said.

The distribution event started at Thompson Café and proceeded around the Jalan Nanas area before concluding at Old Rex Café.

Among the recipients were Chuang Health Clinic, Tukang Gelas, Mui Chin Aluminium, a car service centre, Chua Swee Seng, Hong Hin Tire and Battery Centre, and others.

During the visit, Ibrahim also took note of the condition of several shops under construction, particularly in terms of safety.

The initiative reflects inclusivity among the people, celebrating various festivals regardless of race and ethnicity.

The programme was organised by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) in collaboration with the Green Road Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).

Also present were the political secretary to the Premier, Abdul Samad Ghani and Satok Branch chairman Goh Leng You.
