KUCHING: Pansar Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM477.7 million contract for the design and build of a section of the proposed Serian-Gedong-Samarahan dual carriageway highway in Sarawak.
The Sarawak Public Works Department awarded the contract for Package 1B of the project, covering the Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus stretch.
The 36-month project is slated to commence next month, Pansar said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.
“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets,” the company said.
This latest win follows two significant infrastructure projects secured by Perbena Emas in Sarawak in August and September 2024, with a combined value of RM1.58 billion.
Meanwhile, construction and property development company Zecon Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Majlis Ugama Islam Negeri Sabah (MUIS) to explore a potential housing project in Numbak, Kota Kinabalu.
The MoU outlines a potential collaboration for the development, with Zecon and MUIS considering a 70:30 equity participation, respectively.
The parties aim to finalise the principal terms and conditions within three months.
“The financial effect of the MoU cannot be determined at this juncture as there is no formal agreement yet,” Zecon said.
