IPSWICH (United Kingdom): Ruben Amorim (pic) made a striking admission after Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton, declaring his team “the worst in the history of Manchester United.”

The loss, United’s sixth in 11 Premier League games since Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag, left the club in 13th place, 10 points above the relegation zone.

“We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United,” Amorim said after his side’s wretched display at Old Trafford.

“I know you want headlines but I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go: your headlines.”

“We are underperforming, no matter the circumstances, it is unacceptable to lose so many games, especially for a club like Manchester United,” he concluded.

Despite a first-half equaliser from Bruno Fernandes, second-half goals from Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter left United in turmoil.

This defeat marked United’s sixth home league loss this season, the most in 130 years, and continued their struggle under Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 formation.
