KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching recently extended household assistance to a family of six living in Sg Apong, alleviating their struggles to make ends meet.

The family comprises Muhammad Azeny, 42, his wife Sofiah Kadir, 38, and their four children aged 5 to 13.

Azeny works part-time in a furniture factory and earns an income of only RM500 a month, while Sofiah is a full-time mother living with visual impairment.

Although she is not fully blind, Sofiah’s eyesight is severely limited, particularly at night. Despite her challenges, she remains determined to care for her family and home.

Their home is a simple wooden house built by Azeny—a raised structure with a combined living room and bedroom upstairs and a small kitchen at the back.

The family receives RM300 monthly from social welfare aid to support their children’s education.
