MUKAH: Members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and keep updated on the latest developments amid the ongoing uncertain weather conditions.

Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine said that immediate response and information from community and village chiefs are also important to address the current situation in their respective areas.

“The cooperation of residents in providing information and assistance during this flood, is greatly needed and appreciated.

“Always remain alert, especially in these unpredictable weather conditions, and stay aware of the situation at home and in your areas,” he said while inspecting the flood situation yesterday.

Earlier, Royston was on the ground to visit several flood-affected areas caused by high tide and continuous rainfall since Saturday night.

He expressed satisfaction with the Mukah District and Divisional Disaster Committee’s response to the disaster, noting that the Disaster Operations Room had been activated, and a temporary relief centre (PPS) was opened at the Kem Belia Mukah at 12pm.
