KUCHING: The World No.3 pair, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani, were crowned as the India Open men’s doubles champion today.
In an astonishing finals heat, the world no. 3 pair bested 2025 Malaysia Open champions from South Korea, Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae with a 21-15, 13-21, and 21-16 set win.
This victory marked their first title since China Open last year and the duo are expected to receive around $70,300 (About RM316,631.20) and 11,000 BWF points.
Previously the Malaysia top men’s doubles pair, advanced to the final of the 2025 India Open Badminton Championship after defeating seventh-seeded Indian duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty with a thrilling 21-18, 21-14 set win.
Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin were the only Malaysians who advanced to the finals after fellow compatriots Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik (who were ousted by the Korean pair), mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah were eliminated in their respective semi-finals match.
The India Open took place from Jan 14 – 19 at the K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, in India.
