KUCHING: Lodge International School has once again demonstrated academic excellence with its outstanding performance in the 2024 Cambridge IGCSE exams.
This year, 28 per cent of the cohort achieved straight A/As, with three students—Aidan Iskandar Adenan, Victoria Sim Ching Yee, and Zhao Ling Yun—scoring straight As, some attaining near-perfect scores in their respective subjects.
“This cohort has done a fantastically good job, and we are very proud of their hard work and dedication. They have proven themselves to be those who are well-rounded and self-motivated in their learning, and many of them have chosen to do their A Levels with us as well.
“We are looking forward to continuing nurturing them further to help them reach their full potential,” said Principal Markus Gatuman in a press release today (Jan 17).
Meanwhile Deputy Principal John Law, said Lodge International School has maintained an impeccable academic record in the IGCSEs for decades, and it is one of the oldest centres in Sarawak.
“We are proud of our experienced team of teachers who work closely with our students to give tailored support and help them to achieve their academic goals. Well done to all our students, and we are also thankful to the parents who have been an invaluable pillar of support in this journey,” he added.
The school achieved remarkable results across various subjects, particularly in Information and Communication Technology and Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese, where all students obtained A/As. The sciences also stood out, with 83 per cent of students earning A/As in Chemistry and Physics, and 77.8 per cent in Biology. In Mathematics, 62 per cent achieved top grades, while Additional Mathematics saw 69 per cent of students excelling.
Humanities subjects also performed well, with 82.2 per cent of First Language English students earning A/As. Other notable achievements include 88 per cent in Foreign Language Malay, 66.7 per cent in English Literature, and 46.5 per cent in Economics,”
