MIRI: The new Miri Sentral Bus Terminal now features the state-of-the-art KBE Easybook Terminal Management (ETM) system, designed to simplify and enhance ticketing and boarding processes.
Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said this during a site visit to the new terminal this morning (Jan 16). The visit, which included Miri City Councillors, police, Road Transport Department (JPJ) representatives, and the project contractor, was aimed at conducting a trial run to ensure smooth operations and familiarise stakeholders with the facility’s systems.
“Passengers can now purchase tickets effortlessly via the terminal’s website, counter services, or a mobile application. A QR code embedded in the ticket will enable seamless boarding, as passengers can scan the code directly before entering the bus.
“As part of the transition, the existing Pujut Bus Terminal will cease operations on January 17, 2025. Passengers are advised to adjust their travel arrangements accordingly,” he said.
He added that the terminal is set to elevate the transportation experience in Miri.
“With modern facilities, improved services, and advanced systems, we aim to ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient travel for everyone.”
The terminal’s establishment is expected to significantly improve public transportation infrastructure in Miri, enhancing connectivity and convenience for residents and travellers alike.
