KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) plans to expand its “Jom Kembali Ke Sekolah” programme.

The programme, which is in collaboration with Tabung Baitumal Sarawak (TBS), will be expanded through partnerships with various government and private agencies to enhance the quality of education for the local community.

“This initiative also aims to strengthen relationships between government agencies involved in the Darul Hana project and the residents of Kampung Seberanhg Hilir,” LCDA said in a press release.

On another note, a total of 60 students from three schools, comprising SK Gersik, SK Pulo Ulu, and SK Matu Baru were selected to participate in the programme held at SK Gersik, Kampung Gersik, here, marking the start of the 2025 school year.

The initiative is part of the annual social responsibility (CSR) effort aimed at easing the financial burden of parents in preparing their children’s school necessities.

The assistance provided by LCDA includes vouchers worth RM200.00 for each student to purchase school supplies such as uniforms, socks, shoes, and stationery. Meanwhile, TBS contributed school bags and additional stationery.
