KUCHING: Unity remains the cornerstone of the state’s strength and progress, said Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

He said this during his speech when presenting Gong Xi Fatt Chai donation to students from underprivileged families at Chung Hua Middle School No. 4 today.

“Unity is our biggest asset, our most valuable ‘angpao’. This angpao isn’t about money — it’s about togetherness. Nobody can buy that, and it’s what keeps Sarawak strong and progressive,” said Ibrahim.

He said while Sarawak is known for its progress and resilience, there are external forces envious of its achievements.

“When we are united, no one can disturb us. Sarawak is very progressive and strong, and it is our unity that guards this progress.

“Who likes angpao? I like angpao too. But today, being here with you all is the best angpao for me,” he remarked.

He went on to announce a generous contribution of RM50,000 to support education in Sarawak. The amount will be divided equally between Chung Hua Middle School No. 4 and Chung Hua Primary School No.4, with each receiving RM25,000.
