THIS year 2025 in the Lunar Calendar will see three colours which are rich, intense, and aligned with fire energy to symbolise vitality.

They are Red, Pink and Purple which are recommended for Chinese New Year by Feng Shui masters who also mentioned that we must not wear black, white, or blue to usher in the Year of the Snake.

Red was certainly shouting aloud when yours truly attended a fashion show in Kuala Lumpur. Throughout the fashion show, the fiery red colour on the runway did make the women seem more confident and appealing.

The fashion brand FARAMAS hosted an intimate and beautifully curated high tea trunk show. The event was a testament to the brand’s dedication to creating thoughtful, empowering designs while embracing inclusivity and diversity.

Known for her warm and down-to-earth approach, Dr. Fara Mas, the Creative Director of FARAMAS brand, personally welcomed guests and delivered a heartfelt speech, sharing the inspiration behind the designs.

She spoke passionately about how the life stories of women she encounters —mothers, daughters, friends, and colleagues — fuel her creativity and shape her collections.

The collection itself was a striking representation of the FARAMAS philosophy, Beauty Beyond Body. Models of different ethnicities, ages, skin tones, and body shapes walked the runway, embodying the brand’s commitment to inclusivity.

Each design told a unique story, blending softness with strength, and simplicity with elegance.

From flowing dresses to structured separates, the pieces were versatile yet deeply meaningful.

“This collection reflects the many facets of women”, Dr. Fara Mas shared. “It’s about celebrating their individuality, their resilience, and their ability to shine in so many different ways.”

Guests praised the collection for its originality and depth. “It’s not just beautiful clothes — it’s wearable art,” one attendee remarked.

Others were impressed by the seamless execution of the show and the diverse representation of models, which added authenticity and richness to the presentation.

The choice of a casual, high-tea setting added to the charm of the event, making it an enjoyable and approachable experience for attendees.

The collaboration with Parkson further underscored FARAMAS’ growing presence in the Malaysian fashion scene, as the brand continues to find creative ways to connect with its audience.

The trunk show highlighted its potential and the passion driving it forward, while Dr. Fara Mas’ humility and genuine commitment to empowering women through fashion resonated with everyone present.

Red seems to be a favourite colour choice in her collections so perhaps it is the brand’s signature colour.

To this Dr. Fara responded “This collection is specifically designed to celebrate Chinese rich culture in the occasion of Chinese New Year. Shades of red embody a deep symbolism of prosperity, joy and protection. For women, red dresses take on an even deeper, radiating feminine energy, elegance, and confidence.”

The event served as a reminder that fashion is not just about style. It’s about telling stories and creating connections.
