SIBU: Education today is no longer just about imparting knowledge but also about fostering creativity, digital literacy and moral integrity.
Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kiang Hin Board of Management chairman, Kapitan So Teck Kee made this observation at the school’s 2024 Academic Awards and Graduation Ceremony held at its multipurpose hall in Teku here Tuesday (Jan 14).
He said the school, with 97 years of illustrious history, has nurtured countless outstanding talents who have not only served the community but also contributed significantly to economic development and nation-building in various fields.
“As we approach our centenary milestone, I am deeply aware of the heavy responsibility on our shoulders,” he said, adding, “we must not only inherit past glories but also innovate in this era of globalisation and digitalisation.”
He stressed that by building a high-quality, tech savvy institution, the school aims to ensure that students excel academically, technologically and morally.
“We encourage every student to cherish the resources provided by the school, cultivate innovative thinking, and develop a team spirit.
“When faced with future challenges, let us be resilient and adaptable, becoming pillars of society.”
Moving forward, So said the school will further strengthen its connections with society and collaborate with parents, alumni, and various stakeholders to build a brighter and more competitive school.
The school, he stressed, will continue to work hard in unison, using education as a driving force to contribute to the progress of society and the nation.
