Satok rep presents grants to 86 committees and NGOs

KUCHING: A total of 86 committees and associations in the Satok constituency received minor rural project (MRP) grants from Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

The grants were presented in a simple ceremony at Satok Service Centre, Jalan Kulas here today.

Ibrahim expressed hope that the funds be utilised fully to organise community-based activities for the benefit of the constituents in Satok.

“Today, the main purpose is to distribute some allocations and funds that have been provided to everyone. I hope that these funds, although modest, can assist you in carrying out the planned activities,” he said.

Among the recipients were 15 surau and mosque committees, nine Friendly Neighbourhood Associations (KJM), 13 Neighbourhood Watch Committees (KRT) and eight Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA).

Meanwhile a total of 17 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) as well as 24 other associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) received their grants.

Also present were political secretary to the Premier, Abdul Samat Gany, who is Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)  Satok deputy branch chief, branch secretary Sarbini Abang, Youth chief Mohamad Akram Mohamed Karim and Women chief Salina Salleh.
