SIBU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has played a pivotal role in ensuring balanced progress and fostering unity among the diverse communities in Sarawak.
According to PBB Secretary-General Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, from the outset the party’s aim has been to champion the rights and interests of the bumiputera in Sarawak.
“I see PBB as a party that is not only close to the hearts of most Sarawakians but also one that, since its inception, has never fractured.
“It has remained strong and steadfast because PBB stands firmly on the principles of unity, loyalty, and commitment to the people of Sarawak.
“PBB has demonstrated its political upbringing, firmly upholding the spirit of camaraderie and shared responsibility in achieving a greater goal — making Sarawak a stable, advanced, prosperous, and harmonious state by prioritising the interests of the people of Sarawak, or Sarawak First,” he said at the PBB Central Zone Delegates Conference held at the Sibu Indoor Stadium here Saturday (Jan 11).
Nanta emphasised that, in facing various challenges and shifts in the political climate, PBB remains steadfast as an inclusive party, prioritising harmony among ethnic groups and ensuring no one is left behind in the development process.
“Most importantly, PBB has served as a strong foundation for political and social stability in Sarawak.
“However, as a party that embraces the values of unity and harmony, we cannot rest on our achievements. We must always look ahead and be prepared to face an increasingly complex and challenging future,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the younger generation, he said they represent the future leadership, and their presence in PBB brings fresh hope to the party and Sarawak as a whole.
Therefore, he stressed that the younger generation in PBB must shoulder their responsibilities with full awareness and a strong fighting spirit.
“They must act as agents of change, drivers of innovation, and bearers of fresh ideas to ensure Sarawak remains on the right track in economic, social, and political development.
“Through programmes in entrepreneurship, education, and technology, the younger generation of PBB plays a vital role in ensuring the state not only stays relevant globally but also remains competitive on the international stage,” he said.
