KUCHING: The Swinburne Indoor Open 2025, scheduled for April 12-13, promises to be the most exciting edition of its incarnation yet, with a host of new features, and international participation.

The annual tournament, organised by the Swinburne Ultimate Frisbee Club, is set to draw an even larger crowd this year, with teams from Brunei, Singapore, Sabah, and West Malaysia expressing interest in the competition.

Although the final list of teams has yet to be confirmed, tournament advisor Adriel Wong shared his excitement over the overwhelming response.

“We have yet to confirm which teams are coming, but unexpectedly we have a high number of teams that are interested to join in this year’s edition,” Wong told Sarawak Tribune when contacted.

This year, the stakes are higher than ever.

The team champions, first runner-up, second runner-up, and Pool B champions will all receive medals as well.

Individual awards will also be up for grabs, including Top Scorer, Top Assist, Male and Female MVP (Overall and Finals), adding an extra layer of prestige to the competition.

As anticipation builds, the Swinburne Indoor Open 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark event for frisbee in the region, drawing elite teams and players from across Southeast Asia.
