KUCHING: The Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHEDA) Kuching Branch (SKB) Home and Property Roadshow 2025 offers home buyers information on the type of property they want to own and purchase.

The three-day Chinese New Year themed roadshow, which kicked off from January 10 to 12, also serves as a one-stop centre for not only houses but also property related products and services such as makeover services, sanitary ware, kitchenware, flooring, furniture, banking products and others.

Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the roadshow is also a great effort for SHEDA to assist the youngsters to own their own house, while supporting the sustainable property development in Sarawak.

“As we can see, we have seen a lot of apartments being put up almost every corner in Kuching.

“I think this is a good sign that we are moving towards this line because of the cost of the land.

“That is why I believe this is one way forward that we can probably adopt in the near future, that could offer more affordable housing for the youngsters living in city areas,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after officiating at the roadshow at Aeroville Mall here on Friday.

On another note, the public will get a chance to seek for advice directly from staff of the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government regarding the strata related matters.

Visitors will also be able to check their personal credit rating through Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS) which is available at the Agensi Kaunselling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) booth on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm.

Visitors can discover a variety of booths and take advantage of exclusive promotions, including a ‘Buy & Win’ lucky draw for purchases exceeding RM1,000.

In a notable gesture, Lee Onn Group chairman Datuk Tan Guek Kee contributed RM100,000 to the SHEDA Institute. The donation, received by SHEDA president Augustine Wong, will support property market research and industry development.
