BINTULU: The contractor responsible for constructing the Medan Jaya Flyover has been asked to increase manpower to expedite project progress and reduce traffic disruptions.
The request was made by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming after the Public Works Department (JKR) announced a temporary road diversion to facilitate the flyover construction.
The diversion, which began on Tuesday (January 7), has raised concerns among local residents about potential traffic congestion in the area.
In response, staff from the Tanjong Batu DUN Service Centre conducted an inspection at the project site to assess the situation and ensure immediate remedial measures are taken.
“Our team is working closely with the contractor to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction period,” Pang said in a statement.
He also advised road users to drive carefully in the area.
“Development in any area requires patience and understanding from the community,” he added.
Pang thanked residents for their cooperation and patience, emphasising that the support of all parties will ensure the project is completed smoothly and on time.
