KOTA SAMARAHAN: Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), Datuk Rubiah Wang, has emphasised that the Kasih MADANI initiative will be implemented in various forms by 2025.

As an initial contribution, she revealed that the aid distribution of MADANI devices is the first programme to be implemented based on current needs.

“Kasih MADANI is not just about computers. It will also include other educational programmes such as parental motivation workshops and school equipment assistance programmes.

“In Samarahan, we identified that computers are crucial for university students and school children facing related issues.

“Such device sets are critical in our efforts to support the education system, whether in public higher education institutions (IPTA) or schools,” she said.

She said this during the launch of the Didik Kasih Madani (dKASIH): MADANI Device Assistance (PERMAI) programme, held in collaboration with Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad and UiTM Sarawak Branch at the Tunku Abdul Razak Library, UiTM Sarawak Branch, Samarahan Campus 2, here today (Jan 9).

Earlier, 15 underprivileged students were selected to receive laptops.

According to Rubiah, the programme was organised by the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM), under the MADANI People’s Wellbeing Initiative (IKRaM).

The initiative involves collaboration between all State Development Offices (PPN) and ICU JPM’s key strategic partner, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (BMMB).

“The primary aim of this programme is to provide assistance to our students, especially those from households registered under the eKasih system, by offering laptop devices.

“This assistance is a step towards providing better and more inclusive educational access for students.

“The younger generation is the backbone of the nation, and quality education is the guarantee of their future success,” she said.

Also present were the Sarawak State Development director, Jasni Haji Jubli, and the deputy rector (Academic and International Affairs), Associate Professor Ts. ChM. Dr. Mohammad Isa Mohamadin.
