KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has been invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Sarawak Syariah Legal Year 2025, set to take place on January 21.
The invitation was extended during a courtesy visit to Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, by a delegation from the Sarawak Syariah Judiciary Department.
The delegation, led by Chief Syariah Judge of Sarawak, Datuk Awang Suhaili Ledi, met with them at their official residence at Kasuma Resort here on Wednesday.
Additionally, Wan Junaidi also has been given the honour of delivering the Statesman Lecture on the same day, which will take place at the Majma Hall, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah here.
According to Awang Suhaili, the objective of the event is to ensure the management of legal and judicial matters is administered with integrity and systematically in this digital era.
“We will ensure that all related matters, whether at the Syariah court level involving judges, Syariah lawyers, prosecutions, and so forth, are conducted with full justice and integrity.
“Tun has also consistently reminded us to enhance the efficiency of judicial administration, including matters related to the recruitment of Syariah lawyers. This process must be carefully scrutinised to remain relevant and aligned with current developments,” he added.
