SERIAN: Three local men escaped with injuries after their Perodua Axia skidded off the road and plunged into a drain at Batu 29, Jalan Kuching-Serian, this afternoon (Jan 6).
Firefighters from the Serian station were dispatched to the scene at 1.43 pm following an emergency call, said a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman in a statement.
Upon arrival, they found the car in the drain by the roadside with the occupants trapped inside.
Extrication works were carried out to remove them from the wreckage.
One of the men, aged 23, sustained light injuries.
The other two, both 21 years old, suffered broken left legs and hand injuries.
The injured men were given preliminary treatment at the scene before being transported to the Serian Hospital for further medical attention.
