SPAOH: AgroBank is set to establish a facility at the Spaoh new market to address the banking needs of residents and businesses while improving financial accessibility in the area.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas thus said he is happy with this development.
“I have requested this and by next month this will be a reality for the added benefits of our people here,” he told reporters after visiting the Spaoh Waterfront yesterday (Dec 28).
Uggah, who is also the Bukit Saban assemblyman, earlier officiated at the opening of the RM1 million Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) concrete pedestrian bridge at the Samu longhouse.
He said the 90 metre long bridge was also completed ahead of its May, 2025 completion date.
Later, Uggah also visited another project which was the 1.4 kilometre long Ulu Penom/Ulu Bayor/Ulu Paku Road.
He added the RM450,000 Rural Transformation Project (RTP) too is ahead of its April 2025 completion date.
“We hope to find out about the overall implementation status of the rest of the RTPs, Minor Rural Projects (MRPs) and others for the Bukit Saban constituency at a briefing to be held early next year.
“We also had held discussions and the relevant engagements on the RTPs for 2025,” he said.
Uggah said the service centre will assist all those implementing agencies in doing the Bill of Quantities (BQ) including the respective costs to be determined by March.
“Our expectation is that all projects approved for implementation in 2025 will be completed concurrently.
“This is to avoid any delay or sick projects. We will then continue with our monitoring,” he said.
Also present were Betong MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu, Betong Resident Richard Abunawas, Political Secretary to the Premier Roselind Mapong, and Betong Public Works Department (PWD) engineer Sandra Luna.
