KOTA SAMARAHAN: The attempt of two men to hide 1.11 grammes of syabu in the back pocket of a driver’s seat failed when they were apprehended by the police on Friday.
Kota Samarahan District Police chief DSP Jaimi Husin, said that both suspects were arrested during a patrol by the MPV unit of the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters at Taman Merlin here.
“During the patrol, the officers encountered a black Naza Citra car parked on the left side of the road, with two men seated in the driver and front passenger seats, behaving suspiciously.
“The MPV officers on duty immediately conducted an inspection of the two men, introducing themselves as police officers and showing their identification cards to them.
“After checking the two men, no illegal items were found,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Jaimi added that the MPV officers then conducted a search inside the vehicle and discovered a white container labelled Mr DIY USB headlight.
“Upon inspection, it contained a transparent plastic packet with crystal-like substances suspected to be syabu, weighing approximately 1.11 grammes, in the back pocket of the driver’s seat.
“Both men were arrested and taken to the Kota Samarahan Police Station for further action,” he said.
