KUCHING: Construction of the Digital Innovation Hub in Satok is slated to begin early next year, said Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

“The project, which has received state government approval and funding, will cost approximately RM2.6 million and take 12 to 15 months to complete,” he told reporters after officiating the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok Branch Delegates Meeting at Merdeka Palace Hotel today (Dec 28).

The hub, Ibrahim said, will be equipped with a range of amenities including conference rooms, meeting rooms, seminar rooms, and offices, providing a conducive environment for youth entrepreneurship.

“This facility will not only serve as a workspace but also address the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs, particularly in securing office spaces,” he said.

“They can utilise the hub’s address as their official business address, facilitating their business operations.”

Ibrahim added that the hub will cater specifically to traders within the Satok community, assisting those without registered companies.

Meanwhile, on the progress of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Kampung Segedup, Ibrahim said infrastructure works, including piling, are expected to commence early next year.

“Land embankment works are nearing completion, and drainage works are currently underway,” he said.

“The first phase will see the construction of 271 housing units, followed by approximately 250 units in the second phase.”
